Who are we? Smith & Wesson, Colt, and me.

About Me: Tech Enthusiast & Visionary

The Foundation: Precision as an Identity I was born in 1980—raised in a decade that, to me, remains unrivaled. It was an era of true character, where technological breakthroughs were defined by mechanical mastery. When looking back at this time of perfection, my response is not just a mere quote, but a deep-seated self-image:

"Smith & Wesson, Colt, and me" isn’t just a movie quote; these names more or less defined the era. And besides—it just sounds cool.

For me, this is not a simple comparison, but an expression of my identity as a technician. While the big names set the mechanical standards, it was this spirit of precision that led me to HTBLA Ferlach. There, I graduated in 1999 in Weapon Systems Technology and Mechanical Engineering, solidifying my expertise in ballistic processes and complex mechanics. I see myself as part of this tradition—with the goal of translating that uncompromising accuracy into today’s digital world.

Interests: Where Nature Meets High-Tech My focus is drawn to where boundaries are pushed: in aerospace, modern software development, and, of course, firearms technology. Yet, despite my passion for high-tech, nature remains my most important teacher. Nature is the ultimate engineer—from biomimicry to highly efficient processes, it provides the blueprints that I translate into technical innovation.

The Project: The Evolution of Shooting Sports

What began as a passion for software development has evolved into a mission: I want to provide every shooter—whether indoor or outdoor—with access to a professional electronic shooting range.

The Vision The goal is to transform any range into a "Smart Shooting Range" using the simplest means available. The primary focus is the continuous improvement of the shooter. My project bridges the gap between traditional sport and digital support.

The Technology in Action The system is modular and grows with the user’s requirements:

  • Short Range (Air Rifle/Small Caliber): Cost-effective and efficient use via USB cameras or camcorders.

  • Long Range (> 100m): Precise hit detection using monoculars with specialized camera attachments.

  • Maximum Flexibility: Seamless integration of IP cameras for all distances and environments.

"The consistently positive feedback from the community proves I am on the right track. It is the engine that drives me to constantly develop new features and make the system even more intuitive and powerful."

What Drives Me It is the synergy of technical challenge and practical utility for fellow shooters. To me, software is not static—it is a living project that thrives through constant exchange with its users. It is the logical evolution of a journey that began in the '80s: a commitment to the kind of precision that names like Colt and Smith & Wesson once defined, now reimagined for the digital age.
